Unsettled: Buscando Rumbo

Artists: Eliana Miranda and Daniela Maria Ferreira Cabeza-Vanegas
Dates: April 23 – May 26, 2023
Artist Reception: April 28, 6-8pm

Unsettled: Buscando Rumbo features the artwork of Eliana Miranda and Daniela Maria Ferreira Cabeza-Vanegas. The works in this exhibition focus on the concept of home. Unsettled: defined as “Not yet situated, and/or feeling disturbed” Buscando Rumbo: a Spanish phrase commonly used for those looking for the comfort of a path. Those who leave home, forcefully or willingly, despite the harsh gusting of the wind of uncertainty, hold tight to that which is precious. Without grounding roots, and separated from loved ones left behind, the only option is to keep seeking a connection, if not a pathway home. Ferreira and Miranda have come together to shed light into the immigrant experience, both through their personal fears/hopes and that of others.

Join us for an opening reception on Friday April 28th to celebrate these two talented artists and hear about their work.

Show art is available for purchase in the Umbrella Gallery store.
